Meet Pastor Ralph

Hi! Pastor Ralph here. Glad you are joining us at Blessed Hands Deaf Church. I will take a moment to introduce myself and hope we get to meet in person soon, if we haven’t already met.

I have been a Pastor with Blessed Hands Deaf Church- a ministry of FBC Big Spring, since Summer of 2024. I also preside over the Baptist Student Ministry at SWCD in Big Spring. You can find me at my FBC office or my SWCD office throughout the week. Please feel free to reach out at our BHDC email or my VP # at the bottom of this page or on the about page to see where you might be able to meet me.

My wife Kelly and I are so grateful to be a part of this community and are ever looking forward to deepening our relationships with each one of you! I am passionate about God’s Word and His love and making it known throughout the earth- and more specifically right here in the Permian Basin, among the deaf community of Big Spring, Texas.

Prior to serving BHDC and SWCD BSM, I have worked as a missionary to the deaf in Baja California, Mexico for many years. This is where I met my wife and we spent some years raising our 4 children there, before coming to Texas. We spent some years in Fort Worth, prior to coming to Sweetwater, where we settled and cared for Kelly’s grandmother until she passed several years ago. We have continued to care for the family homestead and Kelly and I have made it our goal based on words from the Lord, to make that home and our land a place of refuge that will bless many in ways we are still discovering.

I have held many titles and done many jobs over the years-homeschooler, carpenter landscaper, and more. Some that I hold dear are my titles as husband, father, and grandfather.

Each of these children my wife and I have raised have now flown the nest and at the time that this is being written, we are expecting a grandchild! We have two girls in college at Angelo State, a son in the Navy currently stationed in South Carolina, and a daughter and son-in-law (and our grandson on the way) in northwest Colorado. We treasure the plans God has for each of their lives and are grateful for all the time we have with each of them.

Let me know what we have in common. I look forward to getting to know you! Thank you for taking the time to get to know a few things about me as we journey together!
